A sad day for movie fans…Burt Reynolds has died…
As TMZ reports:
Burt Reynolds died of a heart attack Thursday morning at a hospital in Florida, according to multiple reports. Reynolds was 82.
Burt was transported a Florida hospital after going into cardiac arrest. His family was by his side when he passed.
Burt Reynolds was born on February 11, 1936 – he grew up in Riviera Beach, Florida, right next to Palm Beach. His father, Burt Sr., eventually became Chief of Police!
Reynolds worked as a stuntman – as well as small tv and movie roles, before starring in several TV shows in the 60’s, which led to work in movie westerns….
Then, in 1972 he starred in one of the most acclaimed and controversial films ever – and it propelled him to stardom…

Other than ‘Deliverance’, I can’t say I rated him much as an actor at all. But he seemed like a nice guy, and had a successful life.

Pete, did you see “The Longest Yard”? He showcased a real character there, then went on a “good old boy” run for the rest of his career until “Boogie Nights”

The prison football film? I did see that, a long time ago. I didn’t dislike him, but his choice of parts was mostly in films I didn’t want to see.

He had such a great run of classic films in the 70’s that many have forgotten…I will be watching the cult gem “Fuzz” in his honor tonight!
