It is one of cinema’s most iconic lines. And one of film’s most intense moments of all time. I just spoke to someone who didn’t know even know that “squeal like a pig!” was from a movie – and certainly didn’t know it was from one of the greatest films ever made:
Deliverance!

Always loved this film. The natural setting, beautiful and unforgiving combined with scary assailants, one who plays a mean banjo (one of my fav scenes of all time) is a survival story that works.

Agree, and great acting as well, although I loved reading about the tension between the Director and the Author of the book! I did love that film. I was 20 when it came out, and have never forgotten the ‘duelling banjos’ scene, or the music. I never got Reynold’s terrible toupees though. With all that money around, he could have at least had better hair!
