Here, Have A Slice Of Beer!
Talk about a miracle product! In an age when you have deep fried bacon, cro-nuts, and every wacky food product in between, now comes word about the ultimate new invention! Yes, Italy has created spreadable beer!
Here’s the story I found online – all about ‘birra spalmabile’:
Italian chocolatier Cioccolateria Napoleone and Cittareale brewery Alta Quota joined forces, creating a spreadable beer. Through experimentation with thickness and just a little bit of chocolatier magic, the ‘birra spalmabile’ is now available to amp up your Saturday morning breakfast spread.
Two varieties, Greta blond ale and and Omid dark ale, are now available in 9.8 oz jars at posh UK department Store Selfridges for £7.99 ($12.54) a jar.
Pietro Napoleone, the mastermind behind the beer, described his invention to Italy Magazine as “like a sweet, beer-scented jelly.”
In the same interview, Alta Quota’s Claudio Lorenzini stated, “This is not the first time in Italy and in Europe that someone has tried to make a non-liquid beer, but the experiments carried out have not been successful because the combination of ingredients was not a winner. We believe that we have found the right formula with the use of high-quality products.”
Can’t wait for someone to try this and share with us all!
