The World’s Skinniest Houses! Try Sleeping Standing Up!

“Could This Be The World’s Skinniest House?”

I don’t know why, but I woke up this morning asking this question – and when I came across this picture, I thought – “perhaps!”…then I thought, “or could THIS be?”

And then again, sometimes you need a bit of perspective to really understand how skinny a house might be…so thanks to this young man for sizing up the situation for me…

Skinny Life!

I love to travel. And what I love MOST about traveling is seeing how other people live – so when you are in Tokyo, for example, you see streets like this:

tokyo-nights

Tokyo is one of the world’s coolest cities, and Japan is one of the greatest countries in the world…but this is a fact:

The US has 300-million people. Japan has 150-million. The ENTIRE land mass of Japan is the size of MONTANA!

That’s one reason that Tokyo is built vertically – there is not much land horizontally! And that means you have to build you houses wherever space is available:

Nice Stairs!

Still, no matter how small your house may be, you can always do an add on like these stairs!

world's smallest house with biggest stairs

It just shows that you can super size virtually anything – and you can minimize them as well – I’m not even sure where this apartment building is located – looks to be Europe – but they really know how to use all available space!

The World’s All-time Skinniest House!

Well, I think I found it – according to an online article, THIS could be the world’s skinniest house – in Poland!

Yes, that’s the house – that amazingly narrow strip BETWEEN the other two buildings! The Keret House is 122 cm (48.031″) at its widest, 72 (28.34″) at its narrowest!

Read all about it by clicking on this story – they have a video walk through as well – enjoy!
