Alex Sim-Wise Goes To Tokyo’s Six-Story Sex Shop!
Welcome to Tokyo…light, camera, sex shops! Hard to misunderstand what this place had for sale!
The party districts of Tokyo offer many interesting stores, all with bright signs and unique images – as for this one, who can say? But we wanted to find out!
Tokyo Nightlife!
As I’ve said before, Tokyo is a wonderland of lights, energy, and fun…and as part of a series of great segments filmed in Tokyo, we sent intrepid Host Alex Sim-Wise into some of Tokyo’s most interesting neighborhoods…like Akihabara!
Ahoy Akihabara!
By day, Akihabara is the electronics district, with huge stores willed with the latest gadgets, technology and electronics…you can wander through these streets for hours and hours, and never get bored….
But at night, you may find yourself wandering by vans like this one…and finding stores that offer a more “adult” type of product…
The Language Of Love!
Even if you don’t always understand what the words mean, you can tell by certain words, phrases and of course the images – love is indeed a “universal” language…
Alex Sim-Wise Goes Exploring!
For this assignment, Sim-Wise agreed to take a camera crew inside this six-story sex shop – as always, our great Tokyo Producer Nick made the arrangements – as these shopkeepers would NEVER just let us wander in with cameras…we got to see a lot of unique Tokyo locations thanks to Nick’s terrific work!
Even Nick Was Stunned!
OK, this was a shot from a previous story, when we explored Tokyo’s Golden Gai bars, but trust me, had I gotten a picture of him inside the sex shop, he would have been looking like this!
So, thanks to Nick, Alex and team were allowed inside the store, where many wonderful adventures awaited….
UnderWear Drug Indeed!
Look at this sign: now you know why we were a bit “reluctant” to head into the store – but journalism needed to be done, and Alex was ready to do it!
You’re On Candid Camera!
Once inside the store, Alex Sim-Wise found herself “on camera” – and not just by us…
I noticed immediately that the store’s “spy” cameras were shown on a huge monitor above the aisles – all of them showcased on one screen – almost so you could see who else was there. Alex was a real trooper, exploring six floors of japanese adult madness – everything from adult videos to novelties, outfits, and yes, LOVE DOLLS…
Sim-Wise Was Floored!
One of the great things about working with Sim-Wise is that she had a great sense of humor, and great instinct for a funny shot…like this, when she decided to do her impersonation of a sex doll…vacant look and all…
As I am known to do, I took lots of pictures inside, which is why you are reading this story right now…here we are inside – and understand, there really weren’t many picture I could take without capturing some kind of “inappropriate” imagery, so I got out and let them finish their shoot…
Playing Dress Up!
The store had an entire floor filled with outfits, and Alex did a fitting…and then she showed us around as much as we could without finding material “not ready for primetime…”
Among the many costumes were lots of schoolgirl outfits for sale, as well as stuff more “adult” – and of course, plenty of cosplay outfits as well…
Sex Shop Vending Machines!
Tokyo has vending machines EVERYWHERE, and this sex shop was no different…these were lined up just outside the door – and I love the signs offering assistance with your buying options…
What A Poser!
Outside the store, there was also a funny , full-length poster board – one last memento of the trip – and as you can see, Alex wanted to pose…
There were a lot of different floors inside that we filmed in, but as I said, a lot of the material was too graphic to show on TV, and so I didn’t photograph it – but imagine rows and rows of adult dvds and blu-rays, and you get the idea…so I will leave you with more pictures of Sim-Wise…

One last shot of most of the team: Corrado, Nick, our terrific Production Manager Kristen way in the back, and Alex’s good friend Rachel Irving as well! Vinny, I don’t know why you aren’t in this shot – sorry, I owe you!

If not for her striking red hair I might not have immediately picked up she was the reporter. I think her impersonation was spot on.
