The NEW McBaguette – And More Burger Madness!

I have posted many pictures of crazy burgers – stuff that just sounds unusual, unnecessary, and super-sized – which leads to the announcement that McDonald’s will release a “McBaguette” in France.

In addition, there is now a website launched by Wisconsin cheese that is promoting the biggest, best burgers you can make! Let’s get to it!

The McBAGUETTE!

On April 18, McDonald’s France is debuting its newest sandwich: the McBaguette. The sandwich will feature a burger with French-made Emmental cheese and mustard on a baguette rather than a bun. The McBaguette will be available for six weeks throughout France’s 1,228 McDonald’s outposts.

Nawfal Trabelsi, Senior Vice President of Marketing for McDonald’s France and Southern Europe said the the McBaguette is designed to appeal to the palates of local diners.

If anyone is going to France, try the McBaguette and let us know what you think. France isn’t hte only foreign McD’s with regional menus…the “McItaly” burger contains Italian products like pancetta and Asiago cheese and Israel’s “McFalafel” was a spin on the popular Mediterranean chickpea dish.

But they are not the only chain trying to make noise.

The Darth Vader Burger!

In what news reports termed “a stroke of genius marketing”, Belgian fast food chain Quick has just scored big time because of the viral web.

It came out with a trio of burgers — with Darth Vader, Darth Maul and Yoda themes — to promote the re-release of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” in 3D. No big deal, until you actually look at the Darth Vader one, which comes with a crazy black bun!

No matter how good this may taste, what do you think about how it looks?

WISCONSIN CHEESE AND BURGERS!

The Wisconsin Cheese Board has come up with a great website to promote their cheese…and they have some really great looking burgers! The Casanova, shown above, includes Swiss cheese, ham, mushrooms and Dijon mustard.

What’s cool about the site is that it’s set up like a Rolodex, so you can flip through, check out the burgers, click a tab to see its ingredients, and even learn a little about the many different cheeses used in sandwiches like The Honky Tonk, The Mona Lisa and The Gypsy.

Check out the website: http://cheeseandburger.com. It sounds like “Puddy”, Patrick Warburton is doing the voiceover…lots of great pics of terrific burgers…

HEART ATTACK GRILL!

Now, the latest from the Arizona restaurant that is staffed by waitresses in Nurse outfits – and serve what look to be the biggest burgers in the world. Two weeks ago, it was reported that a customer at the restaurant, while eating a 6,000-calorie burger called the Triple Bypass Burger, was stricken with an apparent heart attack.

No update on whether this was real or not, but LOOK AT THIS THING!

These massive burgers are the creation of “The Heart Attack Grill”, a restaurant in Tempe, Arizona. “The Quadruple Bypass Burger” consists of four slabs of beef weighing a total of 2lbs, three cheese layers, four bacon rashers, lettuce and tomato.

The record of eating one of these was broken by Jed Donahue, with a time of 3 Minutes and 55 seconds! The “controversy” stirred up in part by the Nurses Union when the place first opened only helped cement this place in burger history.

Oh, and they do a BBQ sandwich, too!
