A “Poo Museum!” Yes, “What The Friday” Has An Incredible New Museum That Celebrates Poo!

Welcome To The “Poo Museum!”

One of my wildest “What The Friday” posts is indeed a case of “WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!”

I kid you not, this ad is for a museum that celebrates “poo”!

The Japanese city of Yokohama is just a half hour away from Tokyo, and it boasts some truly unique museums….and this spring, you can add this one to the list!

The “Unko” Museum Is Here!

It’s opening soon, and tickets are now on sale for the “unko” museum!

“Unko” is just one word for “poo”, and yes, this museum is going to celebrate “poo” in a variety of wildly colorful ways!

As SoraNews24 reports:

The museum has outlined three themes, with “unteractive” being the basis for an interactive art display in which visitors step on light-projections of turds on the ground, causing them to visually splatter in what the museum management calls “a retro-style kuso game (‘shit game’).”

There’s also the “unstagenic” area, where you’ll find an assortment of colorful and shining turd coils to use as backdrops for taking photos to share on Instgram or other social media platforms. Finally, “untelligence” aims to be a thought-provoking art appreciation space, where you’re invited to gaze upon poo sketches from luminaries and other guests, or leave a sketch of your own.

Ok then, but will there be a mascot?

Of Course There Will! Meet Unberto!

SoraNews24 also reports on the museum’s official mascot – Unberuto! This Mascot is describe by SoraNews24 as:

“a philosopher who likes to ruminate upon the nature of universal truths while on the toilet. He’s also an anthropomorphized poop pile who carries his toilet around with him when he’s not sitting on it.”

At this point, the “poo museum” is planned to be open from March 15 through the middle of July, but if it catches on, it could be there for longer!

Thanks to the great website “Soranews24.com” for the story – check them out for all things fascinating about Asia!

This is exactly what this “What The Friday” segment is for: a chance to look at stories that have you thinking “WTF?”

To be fair, Japan has many incredibly interesting museums, like this one:

The “Cup Noodles” Museum!

Yes, Yokohama has two different museums designed to celebrate “restaurant” ramen as well as “home made” ramen – take a look:

Yes, a wall of new and vintage ramen noodles to admire, and salivate over! See more of this unique museum here:

Imagine checking this one out, then heading to the poo museum – a full day of adventure!

And thanks everyone for the nice comments about my “Annual Bloggers Bash” nomination for “Best Entertainment Blog”!

  4. I have to say that this would be a must see museum for me! After all, poo is a big part of all our lives, so should be celebrated! 🙂
(I watched ‘Invasion Of The Bee Girls’ today. Hilariously bad, with lots of lovely gratuitous bare breasts. I really don’t know how the cast kept a straight face. Compared to this, even German porn films are ‘serious theatre’.)
    Best wishes, Pete.
